ABOUT ME

I am passionate about marketing, technology, strategy, and the ever-changing digital landscape. I have strived every day of my professional career to assist clients in identifying the right marketing and digital strategy to meet their business needs, then produce deliverables that exceed their expectations. As my career has progressed, I've become an expert on and consultant for internal agency process and problem solving. I grew up on a wheat farm in south central Kansas. After wonderful years at the University of Kansas, I moved to the Kansas City area. I've lived in KC ever since, save for nine fantastic months living in London for work.

I am proud to be a founding member of the Board of Directors for Digital Women Kansas City. Our mission statement: "We are a professional network of women in art, technology, and marketing committed to learning, mentoring, collaborating and growing together. We are Business Analysts, Project Managers, Developers, Marketers, Designers and others who want to learn from each other and build upon one another’s strengths." As a board member I led our mentorship program and managed the organization's digital presence.

NOTABLE PROJECTS

NationServe

ER Marketing was tasked with redesigning and re-platforming the NationServe site, as well as creating individual, templated websites for the 15 corporate-owned store locations across the continental United States.

I led the technology team in defining requirements, generating the information architecture & user experience wireframes, then implementing the Creative team's design. A WordPress multi-site structure was chosen as the CMS platform, both for its flexibility and ease of use for site administrators, both at Corporate and all locations.

Our recommended and implemented solution improved SEO and paid search options, as each location went from a single page on the old site to unique sites on separate domains. In addition to building and maintaining the sites, my team managed SEM and social media for the corporate and location sites.

Dell - The Power To Do More

VML, Y&R, and Dell planned and executed a Times Square event in NYC to promote "The PowerTo Do More". Pedestrians were asked to write out, on poster board, what they would do if they had the power to do more, then have their photos taken holding up their message. Heartfelt, inspirational, aspirational, and amusing were the terms to describe the overwhelming responses. We even had a live marriage proposal!

I led the VML team in designing, building, and executing day-of integration with Facebook and the Reuters feed to display these photos, within minutes of taking them, on the video boards in Times Square. In addition, my team built the overall campaign website

The website won a 2012 Webby award in the Website IT hardware/Software category.

Coker College Site Redesign

After Coker College completed a rebranding exercise with Global Prairie, I led the digital team in upgrading the site from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7, implementing the creative vision of our talented designers, and mentoring the College marketing department on using the powerful new CMS.

Implementation of the Drupal CMS has empowered the Coker team to update their content and page layout as needed since launch.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Allana is a natural and poised leader. She helped lead personal development efforts within our team by creating a monthly forum for dialogue on Books, TED Talks, Articles, and other industry information. She’s an excellent facilitator and can help teams stay on track and overcome conflict. Allana is extremely solution-oriented and does so without ever assuming the solution. She approaches every ask with an open and curious-mind and all her questions will pay off resulting in a solution that is tailor-made to that situation.
